Let us take you through our curated selection of our 5 favourite beach bars the BVIs have to offer, and everything you need to know before going!
Our Favourite BVI Beach Bars
Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke
Foxy's

One of the most famous beach bars in the world, mostly thanks to the warm welcome extended to all visiting yachties by the charismatic owner and resident musician, Foxy Callwood.
Foxy set up shop on Jost van Dyke in 1968, and he and his wife Tessa have been running the show for over 5 decades. Never seen without his guitar, Foxy himself is still quick to offer a song, a joke or an energising smile.
Expect hand-made beers, unforgettable events and even a signature rum. Not only are they known for their drinks, there is also an amazing food menu. Lunch and dinner are served daily, and their beach BBQs on Friday and Saturdays should not be missed! Great for grilled meats, salads, burgers, and fresh fish.
Foxy's is always a party and will guarantee you a good time!
The Bight, Norman Island
Willy T

The floating bar on a boat.
Willy T is named after the William Thornton, the ship that was the original floating restaurant, named after the architect of the US Capitol building.
The original Willy T was lost during Hurricane Irma in 2017, and has now been sunk just off Key Cay, Peter Island and is used as a man-made reef and a rewarding and unusual dive site.
In 2019 the new Willy T bar came to Norman Island where you can now enjoy their signature Honey Stung Caribbean Chicken and a cold beer!
Expect a fantastic atmosphere, usually chaotic and always fun, with many guests taking the plunge from the top of the aft deck into the sea below
Open for Lunch from 12pm until 3pm, and Dinner from 6:30pm to 9pm.
White Bay, Jost Van Dyke
Soggy Dollar Bar

The home of the Painkiller.
The Soggy Dollar Bar originated and perfected the Painkiller drink during the 1970's. The smooth, full flavoured rum cocktail has become the drink people flock here for.
With space on the beach for dinghies limited, many people chose to jump off from their BVI charter yachts and swim ashore to the bar, hence the name Soggy Dollar!
They also have recently re-opened their Sandcastle Hotel if you are looking to extend your stay on JVD.
Billing itself as "a sunny place for shady people", Soggy Dollar Bar is another great option if you are looking for a party!
Swim in, eat, drink, swim out.
Spanish Town
Bitter End Yacht Club

Bitter End Yacht Club has been known for its sense of adventure, love of the water and a strong dedication to family and friends. Since being destroyed during Hurricane Irma, Bitter End has been fully rebuilt and restored, and it's now an impressive must-see.
Drink and dine and take in the incredible views of the BVIs. As well as dining opportunities, the Quarterdeck Bar will serve you up some great rum punches and sunset views in an open-air locale.
You can also enjoy water sport activities at Bitter End such as diving, sailing, windsurfing, or kiteboarding with the help of the Bitter End crew.
Cooper Island
Cooper Island Beach Club

Cooper Island Beach Club offer hotel accommodation, restaurants and a rum bar where you expect to find a collection of over 280 rums! We recommend trying a rum sampler board where the staff can take you through the origins of each.
They also have a micro brewery onsite ready and waiting for you to go and try out their craft beers.
Cooper Island Beach Club is known for its sustainability efforts and produce their electricity and water from the sun.
We recommend visiting for a more relaxed atmosphere with friends and family. Be sure to make it in time for the daily happy hour running from 4pm to 6pm.
